The BRS has announced candidates for 115 constituencies. Former minister Konda Surekha is likely to be the Congress candidate for the Warangal East constituency. She is silently working to gain people’s support. In the 2014 elections, Surekha won the Warangal East seat but lost the Parkal constituency due to a rift with the TRS/BRS. Now, she wants to contest from Warangal East and has the support of TPCC chief A Revanth Reddy. The TPCC is in favor of Surekha, although Warangal DCC president Errabelli Swarna is also in the race for the ticket.

Surekha’s husband, former MLC Konda Murali, is strategically clearing her path while she campaigns. The Kondas have a strong following in the constituency, and caste equations also play a role in the elections. Surekha belongs to the Padmashali community, while Konda Murali is from Munnuru Kapu. Both communities have a significant number of voters in the constituency. Additionally, there are many minority voters, including Muslims and Christians. The Kondas have maintained good relationships with Muslims in the past. Surekha showed support for Muslims when there was opposition to the construction of the Iqbal Minar by followers of the then Warangal mayor, Nannapuneni Narender.
