Hyderabad: KT Rama Rao, the working president of the BRS, accused the BJP on Sunday of protecting Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. He claimed that the BJP’s focus on the ‘Musi Nidra’ issue was an attempt to distract from the recent Lagacharla incident.
In a message shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), KTR criticized BJP leaders. He questioned whether their concern for people living near the Musi River was genuine or just a tactic to shift attention away from the Lagacharla incident. He accused BJP leaders, including Kishan Reddy, of playing “dark politics” to support their ally, CM Revanth Reddy.
KTR also pointed out that while the BJP initially welcomed the HYDRA project and congratulated Revanth Reddy, the BRS party had been the one to step in and stop the displacement of people because of the Musi project. He asked BJP leaders why they were suddenly showing concern for the victims of the Musi project and whom they were trying to protect.
He further criticized the BJP’s actions, calling them a “diversionary drama” meant to save Revanth. KTR warned that the people of Telangana were aware of these political tricks and would teach the BJP a lesson when the time came.
In a related development, the family members of those arrested in connection with the Lagacharla pharma project incident traveled to New Delhi on Sunday. They plan to file complaints against the State government and the police with the National SC ST Commission and the National Human Rights Commission on Monday. Several BRS leaders, including MLC Satyavathi Rathod, accompanied the families and expressed the party’s support for them.
