Hyderabad: On Sunday, KT Rama Rao, the working president of the BRS (Bharat Rashtra Samithi), criticized the Chief Minister, A Revanth Reddy, for an unusual incident where police officers allegedly beat their own personnel. He mentioned this while addressing reporters during a visit to the Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) in Uppal, which were constructed by the BRS government.
KTR claimed that the Chief Minister doesn’t know how to properly manage the government. He accused Revanth Reddy of focusing on unnecessary projects, such as the Musi River rejuvenation plan, instead of fulfilling the six guarantees promised before the elections. According to KTR, the Musi River can be rejuvenated for around Rs 1,100 crore, but the government has inflated the cost to Rs 1.5 lakh crore, implying a massive scam.
KTR clarified that the BRS is not against the rejuvenation of the Musi River. However, he expressed concern over the alleged corruption involved in the Rs 1.5 lakh crore project. He also accused the government of demolishing the homes of poor and middle-class people, even when these houses were built with proper permissions.
Additionally, KTR reminded everyone that the KCR government had already spent Rs 3,866 crore on constructing the STPs and nearly completed the project. He criticized Congress leaders for talking about the Musi River rejuvenation again, despite the work already done by the BRS government.
