Speaking to the media, Rama Rao mentioned that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was regularly reviewing the heavy rains in the state and had spoken to municipal department officials. All municipal employees in Hyderabad were working tirelessly, with their holidays cancelled. Precautionary measures had been taken so far to avoid any loss of life, and the main objective was to continue doing so.

The Minister highlighted the government’s efforts in response to the red alert for Hyderabad, including completing the desilting program and strengthening ponds. Gates had been installed in 135 ponds, and the Disaster Response Force was working extensively. The Nala Development Programme had contributed to reducing flood impact compared to previous years.

Rama Rao called on opposition parties to refrain from political criticism and instead focus on actions that benefit the people affected by heavy rains. He stressed that all government departments were working together to tackle the rain, including alerting citizens in flood-prone areas, establishing control rooms, and setting up temporary shelters. Constant monitoring of closed flood areas and disease prevention measures would be implemented once the rains subsided. The Minister also mentioned the possibility of visiting Warangal on Friday if necessary.
