Hyderabad: KT Rama Rao, the BRS working president, accused Congress leaders of intimidating Kitex, a company planning to establish a Textile Park in Warangal that promises 25,000 jobs. He warned that such threats might drive industries away.

During a program distributing sewing machines and KCR Kits to women in the Parakala constituency, Rama Rao highlighted that Congress was pushing for jobs only for their endorsed individuals, risking industrial growth. He claimed that while BRS aims to attract businesses to the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park and create opportunities for Telangana’s youth, Congress was plotting to exploit these efforts.

Rama Rao criticized the surge in canal construction costs within the Kakatiya Textile Park from Rs 137 crore to Rs 297 crore due to alleged corruption by Congress ministers and MLAs. He accused Warangal Congress leaders of planning to pocket Rs 167 crore through this project, stressing that such exploitation would persist unless challenged. He promised to address these issues in the upcoming assembly sessions.

Rama Rao noted that the state government owes Rs 50,000 to every girl in Telangana. He criticized the Revanth government for celebrating a meager Rs 300 crore allocation to self-help groups when Rs 3,000 crore was required. He mentioned that the Congress government used Rythu Bandhu during past elections and is doing the same for upcoming Panchayat elections.
