Hyderabad: On Thursday, BRS Working President KT Rama Rao criticized the current state of Telangana’s economy. He highlighted that inflation has been negative for the last two months.
Rama Rao expressed concern, noting that under KCR’s leadership, Telangana thrived for nine years but faced financial challenges within just eight months under Congress. He blamed the economic decline on the “chaotic policies” led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. For the first time, inflation turned negative in June and July. In July, Telangana’s inflation was -0.44%, while the national average was +2.10%. In June, it was -0.93% compared to the national +1.55%. He emphasized that rural areas are experiencing worse deflation.
KTR clarified that a drop in inflation isn’t always good. It’s troubling when it signals economic distress. People are buying only essentials, and business activities have stalled. He cited experts who warned that the lack of job creation and economic slowdown are core problems, urging the government to heed these warnings.
He harshly criticized the Revanth Reddy-led Congress government, accusing it of halting economic progress. “Telangana, once the fastest-growing state, is now regressing,” he said, calling the government “hopeless.”
KTR demanded urgent action to revive the economy. He called for economic reforms and job creation initiatives to prevent further decline. He warned that if the Congress doesn’t rectify its mistakes, Telangana’s economic future will worsen. Addressing these issues is crucial for the state’s progress.
