Hyderabad: Muslim scholars and community leaders are urging Telangana’s Chief Minister to quickly release post-matric scholarships for minority students. They have expressed concerns to A. Revanth Reddy about the challenges students face in continuing their education and finding jobs without this financial support.
A group of religious leaders and community figures, including Moulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani from the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, Moulana Shah Jamal ur Rahman Miftahi, and Mufti Sadiq Mohiuddin Faheem Nizami, have jointly addressed this issue. They, along with other representatives from major Muslim organizations, signed an open letter to the Chief Minister. This letter highlights the non-release of scholarships under the RTF scheme.
The letter points out the urgent crisis minority students are experiencing due to delayed scholarships. The leaders have warned that this delay is causing severe financial and academic problems for thousands of students. Many are forced into debt, their education is disrupted, and some are even dropping out.
The scholars demand immediate action to release pending scholarships, establish a transparent and timely disbursement process, and allocate emergency funds to clear backlogs. This letter has been delivered to the Minister for Minority Welfare, the Chief Minister’s office, the Principal Secretary of the Finance Department, and the Secretary of the Minority Welfare Department, Shafiullah.
