Hyderabad: On Monday, BRS Working President KT Rama Rao strongly criticized the Congress-led Telangana government. He accused them of creating a ‘commission raj’ where only those who pay bribes get their payments processed.

Small contractors protested outside the Chief Minister’s office in the state secretariat. Rao said this desperate act highlights the government’s moral and administrative failures. “This protest is a clear sign of Revanth Reddy’s declining rule,” he stated.

Rao claimed that while large contractors, some linked to cabinet ministers, receive payments for multi-crore projects, smaller contractors face harassment for refusing a 20% commission. He questioned the government’s priorities, noting they have funds to send money to Delhi but not to pay contractors for public welfare projects. He reminded everyone that this wasn’t the first protest. “Contractors protested earlier at the Deputy Chief Minister’s chamber and now at the CM’s office. This is clear evidence of the administration’s decay,” he remarked.

The ‘Mana Ooru – Mana Badi’ scheme, aimed at improving school facilities for underprivileged children, is suffering due to unpaid bills. “It’s disgraceful that those supporting such noble programs are ignored,” he said. Meanwhile, large contractor bills are cleared swiftly, revealing the Congress government’s double standards, he added.

Rama Rao criticized the Revanth Reddy administration for delaying payments to genuine contractors while quickly sending funds to the Congress high command in Delhi. “In just 20 months, this government borrowed Rs 2.2 lakh crore and failed to fulfill any of its 420 promises. The public needs to know where the money went. The government should release a white paper on fund usage immediately,” he demanded.

KTR called for an independent probe into the alleged 20% commission scheme. “When the Prime Minister has repeatedly mentioned the ‘RR tax’ in Telangana, why is there no investigation into such corruption? Contractors openly accuse the government right inside the Secretariat, showing that the Congress regime has become a complete Commission Corporation,” he said.
