KT Rama Rao Accuses Government of Conspiring Against Farmers

The working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), KT Rama Rao, has accused the State government of planning to remove the ‘Rythu Bharosa’ scheme by asking farmers to submit declarations. Speaking on Friday, he claimed that requesting affidavits from farmers was a way to intimidate and harass them.

During a press conference in Hyderabad, KTR alleged that the government was using the affidavit process as an excuse to file cases against farmers. He criticized the authorities for trying to paint farmers as dishonest. “If the government cannot fulfill its promises, it should apologize to the farmers instead of harassing them,” he said.

KTR argued that the government had broken its promises to the farming community. He demanded that the authorities disclose a village-wise list of beneficiaries who have received support under the ‘Rythu Bharosa’ scheme. He also pointed out that the government owed Rs. 17,500 to every farmer in the State.

To counter the government’s actions, KTR urged BRS party members to launch awareness programs for farmers across the State starting Saturday. He also addressed claims by ministers that Rs. 22,000 crore was misused under the ‘Rythu Bandhu’ scheme. Challenging the government, he demanded that they release detailed information about the alleged misuse of funds.
