Hyderabad: On January 24, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader KT Rama Rao sent legal notices to Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar and Nizamabad MP Dharmpuri Arvind. Rao accused them of making false statements about his family.
Rao demanded a public apology from these BJP leaders within five days. He described the claims as baseless and harmful, suggesting it was a political attack. He warned that if they did not apologize, he would take legal action.
KTR’s lawyers highlighted that during a press event on January 23, Bandi Sanjay accused Rao’s family of illegally gaining wealth through phone tapping. Sanjay also claimed celebrity phones were tapped.
The lawyers called these claims entirely untrue. They criticized Bandi Sanjay for repeating these allegations despite an ongoing defamation case in the City Civil Court.
In the notice to the Nizamabad MP, the lawyers objected to his comments about drug use and supply.
They emphasized that Rao, who has contributed to the state’s IT development, was being wrongly accused without proof, suggesting a political motive behind these actions.
