KT Rama Rao of the BRS claimed on Monday that a secret agreement between Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Prime Minister Narendra Modi could endanger Telangana‘s future.
Rama Rao accused the Chief Minister of following the directions of PM Modi and Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu. During a gathering at Telangana Bhavan, he stated that the supposed rivalry between Congress and BJP was just a show, as both parties were actually deceiving Telangana together.
Rao criticized Revanth Reddy’s approach, calling it ‘scissors politics’. He joked about Revanth always having scissors ready to inaugurate buildings developed under the BRS government. He warned Revanth to be cautious with those scissors, mentioning that the Osmania University buildings opened on Monday were initiated during KCR‘s time. Rao said Revanth’s careless remarks only amused people, who were comparing him unfavorably to previous Chief Ministers.
Rama Rao further accused Revanth of trying to harm the Kaleshwaram project. He alleged that, under Modi and Naidu’s guidance, Revanth planned to redirect Godavari waters to Andhra Pradesh and eventually Tamil Nadu. Rao described this as part of a larger scheme by the central government. He blamed Congress for the ongoing urea crisis, criticizing Revanth for meeting with film celebrities while farmers suffered.
He mocked BJP MPs for linking the urea shortage to ‘Operation Sindoor’ and China, questioning if India was at war with China. Rao accused BJP of protecting Revanth instead of holding him accountable.
Rama Rao urged the public to remember that during KCR’s decade-long leadership, issues like the urea crisis never occurred. He pointed out that Congress failed to deliver on any election promises in the past 20 months. He encouraged people to express their dissatisfaction in the upcoming local body elections.
