New Delhi: BRS working president KT Rama Rao has demanded immediate action over what he calls a scam in the ‘Amrut project.’ He urged the BJP to cancel the entire project and conduct a thorough departmental inquiry into the contract awarded to Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s brother-in-law. According to KTR, merely talking about the issue isn’t enough, and this situation will be a crucial test for the BJP.

A day after meeting Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, KTR held a press conference in New Delhi. He claimed that this project is a clear example of crony capitalism, pointing out the close family link between the Chief Minister and the contract beneficiary.

KTR argued that this situation falls under the “Office of Profit” rule, which could lead to serious consequences. He compared this case to that of Jharkhand’s Chief Minister Hemant Soren, who faced similar charges. He also mentioned Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Ashok Chavan, who had to step down due to conflicts of interest in the past. KTR emphasized that the company involved has no prior experience, which raises further concerns about the validity of the contract.

The BRS leader also took aim at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing him of ignoring the issue. KTR pointed out that PM Modi had previously said Telangana had become an “ATM for Congress,” but no action has been taken since then. KTR questioned why the Centre is not acting on what he claims is an Rs 8,000 crore scam. He further alleged that even a minister’s family is involved in the contract, which he says is a clear example of conflict of interest and office of profit.

KTR warned that this is just the beginning of his efforts to expose what he believes are multiple scams by the Congress government in Telangana. He promised to continue coming to Delhi to bring more issues to light. He shared that Union Minister Khattar told him that Parliament sessions starting from November 25 would provide an opportunity to address these concerns.

Lastly, KTR accused BJP MPs from Telangana of protecting Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. He claimed that while the BJP is fighting Congress nationally, they have formed an alliance with the Congress in Telangana. According to him, the eight BJP MPs from the state have not raised their voices against the alleged scams.
