BRS working president KT Rama Rao questioned why the Telangana Chief Minister’s government was not speaking out against the Union Government’s direct allocations of mines to PSUs in Gujarat and Orissa. He wondered why Telangana PSUs were not receiving the same treatment.

KTR criticized the Chief Minister for supporting the auction of coal mines, despite opposing it in the past. He pointed out that as PCC president and MP in 2021, the Chief Minister had demanded the Union government to stop the auction of coal blocks and transfer them to Singareni Collieries. Now, as Chief Minister, he was promoting auctions that he previously opposed. KTR asked for an explanation for this change of heart and questioned if the auctioning of Telangana coal blocks would lead to the privatization of Singareni under the guise of disinvestment.
