    Car Plunges into Lake in Bhoodan Pochampally, Five Drown

    A tragic accident occurred in the Bhoodan Pochampally area of Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district on Saturday night. A car traveling in the dark missed a turn due to the absence of indicator boards and plunged into the Jalalpuram lake. All five young men in the car, who were from L B Nagar in Hyderabad, drowned in the incident.

    The lack of safety measures in the area has drawn sharp criticism. Despite the severity of the accident, local authorities have shown noticeable negligence in addressing the issue.

    Angered by the incident, residents of the area staged a protest. They demanded that officials from the Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department immediately install indicator boards to prevent further accidents. However, no significant steps, such as adding lights or other safety features near the lake, were taken.

    On Sunday, police temporarily placed radium stickers on trees near the road at the dangerous turn. This quick fix was seen as an inadequate response to the community’s demands and the gravity of the situation.
