Gadwal – District Collector B.Yam Santosh has urged government departments to speed up the land acquisition for the Jawahar Nettempadu Lift Irrigation Project.
During a review meeting held at the Collectorate on Tuesday, officials from both the Irrigation and Revenue Departments gathered to discuss delays. The main focus was to clear the way for acquiring the remaining 480 acres needed for the project’s final phase.
To fast-track the process, the Collector ordered the creation of special teams. These will include the Tahsildar, Revenue Inspector (RI), Mandal Surveyor, and Irrigation Department engineers. Each team will manage land acquisition by specific canal routes to ensure faster progress.
Collector Santosh insisted that compensation must be paid promptly to landowners. Once payments are made, he said, civil construction work should begin without delay.
He also highlighted the importance of informing local communities. The Collector wants villagers to understand how the construction of distribution canals will help their area grow and improve agricultural infrastructure.
To ensure transparency and progress, he announced that he would personally visit the sites where the canals will be built.
Key officials including Additional Collector Lakshmi Narayana, RDO Srinivasa Rao, and Irrigation SE Raheemuddin were present at the meeting, along with other senior staff from the Irrigation and Revenue departments.
