Hyderabad: A large fire erupted at a rubber factory in the Katedan industrial area on Thursday. Luckily, no one was injured.
Thick smoke rose from the building, alarming nearby workers. Firefighters said the fire started in a unit making car mats and other rubber products.
Once alerted, five fire engines hurried from nearby stations to tackle the blaze. They extinguished it within an hour.
Officials suspect a short circuit caused the fire. The factory owner mentioned no one was present during the incident, supporting this theory.
Mailardevpally police and Disaster Response Force (DRF) teams arrived to help. They secured the area to protect workers and responders.
The fire’s cause remains under investigation by safety officials. The incident resulted in an estimated loss of Rs 4-5 lakh.
In a separate event, a gas explosion in a refrigerator led to a fire at Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Sanathnagar.
The explosion occurred in Satyanarayana’s home, spreading flames that destroyed household items. Firefighters quickly arrived and put out the fire. Fortunately, no one was home at the time.
Afterward, local MLA Talasani Srinivas Yadav visited the affected family to offer support. Officials are investigating the explosion’s cause and assessing the damage.
