Hyderabad: Union Minister G Kishan Reddy commended the Non-Ferrous Material Technology Development Centre (NFTDC) for its significant role in supporting national defense, electronics, electric vehicles, medicine, and space exploration. NFTDC continuously enhances technology to keep up with changing needs.
On Thursday, he visited NFTDC to learn about their projects and joined a meeting with officials. Reddy recognized the influence of distinguished leaders like Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, the former President known as the Missile Man of India, and scientists such as B.K. Rava, Dr. P. Rama Rao, and Dr. V. Arunachalam.
He mentioned that crucial materials for major ISRO projects like Chandrayaan, Mangalyaan, and Gaganyaan come from NFTDC using cutting-edge technology.
Reddy stressed NFTDC’s importance in the National Critical Minerals Mission. He noted the center’s key role in mineral recycling and processing.
The minister appreciated NFTDC’s efforts to innovate and collaborate with private companies for technological progress. He assured officials of his support in addressing any obstacles by bringing them to the Prime Minister‘s attention.
Amid global supply chain uncertainties, NFTDC’s work is crucial for India’s self-reliance in critical minerals. Reddy hopes the institute will become a world leader in advanced magnets and strategic materials technologies.
