LB Nagar MLA, D Sudheer Reddy, has been accused of making caste-based remarks against Hastinapuram corporator, Banoth Sujatha Naik. As a result, the LB Nagar police have registered a case against him.
The police have charged the MLA under various sections of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989. These include Sections 3(2)(a) and 3(1)(r)(w)(ii). Additionally, he has been booked under Section 79 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
According to the complaint, corporator Banoth Sujatha Naik alleged that the MLA abused her by mentioning her caste name. The case is now being investigated by the authorities.
