Hyderabad: Recently, MLC K Kavitha sent a letter to AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge. This led PCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud to question if she still represents the BRS or another party.
At Gandhi Bhavan, Mahesh Kumar spoke to the media, calling Kavitha’s letter to the AICC President unusual. He questioned if she wrote it as a BRS member or for the cultural group Jagruthi. “It’s odd that Kavitha, who was silent for ten years, is now talking about BC issues. What has BRS done for BCs in the past decade? Can she show any instance where she supported BCs?” he asked.
Mahesh Kumar suggested her sudden concern for BCs is a tactic to stay relevant in politics. He highlighted that Congress has always supported SC, ST, and BC communities, noting their 42% reservation for BCs in local bodies, along with benefits in education and healthcare.
He criticized BRS for losing power due to poor governance and not solving unemployment problems. “Can they show what they accomplished in the last ten years?” he challenged.
Mahesh Kumar also criticized BRS leader T Harish Rao for his remarks about Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and water-sharing disputes, accusing him of compromising with the Andhra Pradesh government and lying about the Banakacharla project. He directly asked Kavitha if the alleged property-sharing deals within BRS had collapsed. “The people of Telangana won’t be fooled anymore. BRS, which betrayed everyone, has no right to ask for votes,” he declared.
He called on party members to make Friday’s public meeting a big success and mentioned that the party’s Disciplinary Committee would address MLA Anirudh Reddy’s controversial comments.
