In Hyderabad, G Sunita Rao, the Mahila Congress State President, expressed her concerns about the treatment of women in the Congress party. She claimed that despite the sacrifices women have made over the years, they are being treated unfairly when it comes to receiving nominated posts. During a casual media interaction, Sunita, who is also the Goshamahal MLA candidate, became emotional and questioned whether this was the justice that Rahul Gandhi had promised.

Sunita highlighted the numerous demonstrations and protest programs she had organized and led as the Mahila Congress president in Telangana. Despite the low priority given to this women’s wing by the party, she pointed out that they had achieved significant success even when the BRS was in power.

She also brought attention to the number of cases filed against her for holding these demonstrations. Sunita expressed her disappointment that some leaders who had defected from other parties were being prioritized over loyal workers. She questioned the party’s norms, noting that even though candidates who contested were not supposed to receive nominated posts, some were still able to secure them. Sunita wondered if women would receive a fair opportunity in the next phase of distributing nominated posts.
