Man in Hyderabad sentenced to death for murdering wife over dowry

A man in Hyderabad has been sentenced to death for killing his wife and harassing her for dowry. The man, Imran-ul-Haq, brutally killed his wife, Naseem Akhtar, using various tools in January 2019. He was arrested soon after the murder and found guilty by the court.

Imran has been sentenced to death and fined Rs 10,000 for the murder. If he fails to pay the fine, he will have to undergo simple imprisonment for five months. Additionally, he has been given three years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 5,000 for dowry harassment. If he fails to pay this fine as well, he will have to undergo simple imprisonment for two months.

According to the police investigation, Imran killed his wife after she found out about his second marriage. He had also been demanding Rs 30,000 for a car and harassing his wife.
