Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) will host the Special Editions of C2F2 and KidzCINEMA Film Festival from 1st to 3rd January 2026 at its campus in Hyderabad. The event is being organised by the Instructional Media Centre in collaboration with Culture Cinema Film Festival and KidzCINEMA Film Festival.
The three-day international film festival will feature a carefully curated selection of children’s and world cinema from more than ten countries. The festival aims to provide students and cinema enthusiasts with a unique cultural and educational experience through diverse storytelling from across the globe.
According to Mr. Rizwan Ahmad, Director IMC and Festival Director, the inaugural function will take place at 11 am at the IMC Preview Theatre on the MANUU Campus. Mr. Praveen Nagda, Director of C2F2 and KidzCINEMA, will attend as the Guest of Honour. Prof. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar, will also grace the opening ceremony.
The festival will open with the screening of The Adventures of Princess Mirabilis, a film from Angola. This selection sets the tone for a diverse lineup representing multiple continents and cultures.
Films from fourteen countries will be screened during the festival, including productions from Angola, Belgium, Brazil, China, France, India, Indonesia, Iran, Nigeria, Peru, Philippines, Portugal, Russia, and Spain. The selection represents a wide spectrum of storytelling traditions and cinematic styles from around the world.
All screenings are free of charge and open to students, faculty members, and film enthusiasts. Entry will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis with a valid photo ID card. This open-access approach ensures maximum participation from the university community and local cinema lovers.
Mr. Mohammed Mujahid Ali, Producer Grade I at IMC, serves as the Festival Convener for the event. The Instructional Media Centre has been instrumental in bringing this international film festival to the university campus, providing a platform for cultural exchange and cinematic appreciation.
The festival represents a significant opportunity for students and film enthusiasts in Hyderabad to experience international cinema, particularly films made for and about children from diverse cultural backgrounds.
