Hyderabad, the capital city of Telangana, experienced heavy rainfall and hailstorms in many parts of the city. The sudden downpour caused waterlogging in several low-lying areas, leading to traffic jams and disruption of normal life. The hailstones were as large as golf balls, causing damage to crops, vehicles, and property.

The heavy rainfall was caused by a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal, which resulted in a cyclonic circulation over the region. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued a warning of heavy rainfall for the city and advised people to stay indoors and avoid traveling unless necessary. The rainfall was particularly heavy in areas like Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, Gachibowli, and Madhapur, which are known for their high-end residential complexes and commercial establishments.

The heavy rainfall and hailstorms have caused significant damage to the city’s infrastructure, with several roads and bridges being washed away. The Telangana government has announced relief measures for the affected people, including the distribution of food and shelter. The state government has also set up control rooms to monitor the situation and coordinate relief efforts. The IMD has predicted more rainfall in the coming days, and people are advised to take necessary precautions to avoid any untoward incidents.
