Dasari Chandu, the second son of Dasari Bheema Raju who owns a famous ‘Madugula Halwa’ sweet shop in Madugula, Andhra Pradesh, tragically died in a freak accident in Kyrgyzstan. Chandu, who was 20 years old and studying for his second-year MBBS degree, went to a waterfall with classmates and got stuck in the frozen water, resulting in his death.

Chandu was enjoying the end of his second-year MBBS exams when the incident occurred. His parents contacted Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, who arranged for the transportation of Chandu’s body back to Anakapalle as soon as possible. This is not the first time a student studying in Kyrgyzstan has died – on June 2, 2023, a third-year MBBS student from Bihar named Puja Kumari also passed away due to health issues while studying in Bishek.
