Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka held a meeting for the State Level Bankers Committee (SLBC) in Hyderabad. The meeting was to check on the release of funds to farmers’ bank accounts under the Farm loan waiver scheme, which started today.
During the meeting, the Finance Minister told the bankers to make sure that the funds allocated for farm loan waivers are not used for any other purposes.
The government had already instructed the banks to transfer the funds to farmers’ accounts by 4 pm on that day.
In the first phase, the government announced that it would waive farm loans up to Rs one lakh.
