    Meira Kumar praised Sonia Gandhi for fulfilling the wishes of Telangana by creating a separate state. Speaking at Gandhi Bhavan, she thanked Sonia for understanding the struggles faced by the people of Telangana. Meira Kumar stated that while others let the people of Telangana down, Sonia Gandhi stood out in her empathy. She also dismissed any claims that the creation of Telangana was unconstitutional.

    However, Meira Kumar acknowledged that nine years have passed since the formation of Telangana, but the challenges faced by the farmers and workers remain unchanged. She vowed that the Congress party would work actively to alleviate the suffering of the people and bring about positive change in their lives. She also assured the gathering of her commitment to Telangana and pledged to respond promptly to any calls for assistance.
