The Meteorological Department has predicted possible rainfall across the two Telugu states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh this Friday. Because of this, officials have issued a yellow alert for several districts. The rains are expected due to ongoing surface circulation in the region.
In Telangana, areas like Adilabad, Komaram Bhim, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagityala, Rajanna Sirisilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Mahabubabad, Warangal, and Hanumakonda are likely to experience moderate to heavy rainfall. Officials also warned that there might be gusty winds with speeds of 30 to 40 km per hour, along with thunder and lightning.
Andhra Pradesh is facing an especially worrying situation. Recently, heavy rains have caused severe damage in the state. Vijayawada was hit by major flooding due to the overflowing Krishna River, which has submerged crops and affected many people. After a short break, the region is now seeing more heavy rains in districts like Kakinada, Kadapa, and West Godavari.
Residents are being advised to stay alert as the Meteorological Department is keeping a close watch on the weather conditions.
