    The Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot, announced that Rajasthan is the top milk producer in India, responsible for producing 15.05% of the country’s total milk. This is due to the state government’s efforts to help cattle-rearers. The Basic Animal Husbandry Statistics 2022 shows that the country produced 221.06 million tonnes of milk in 2021-22 with a growth rate of 5.29%. Rajasthan is followed by Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Andhra Pradesh in milk production.

    This achievement was celebrated on World Milk Day. Rajasthan’s animal husbandry industry is thriving thanks to the state government’s welfare schemes. The government has helped cattle-rearers in various ways to support their business and increase milk production. As a result, Rajasthan has become the top milk producer in India.

    The state government’s efforts have paid off, as Rajasthan’s milk production accounts for 15.05% of the total milk production in India. Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Andhra Pradesh follow Rajasthan in milk production. The Basic Animal Husbandry Statistics 2022 report shows that India produced 221.06 million tonnes of milk in 2021-22 with an annual growth rate of 5.29%.
