Minister Sridhar Babu surprised by Janmastami incident, promises compensation to victims

Sri Duddilla Sridhar Babu, the Minister for IT & Industries, expressed his sorrow over a tragic event during the Sri Krishna Janmashtami Shobhayatra in Gokul Nagar, Ramanthapur. The incident occurred under the Uppal Police Station area, close to the event’s end, resulting in five deaths and several injuries.

Minister Sridhar Babu called the incident very unfortunate and promised full support from the government to the affected families. He stated that each family would receive Rs 5 lakh as compensation, and the government would cover the medical costs for those injured.

Initial reports suggested that a live electric current from a cable wire caused the tragedy. The Minister ordered a thorough investigation, led by the District Collector, to find out what happened and ensure accountability.

Additionally, a special initiative will take place across Greater Hyderabad to check and improve the safety of hanging cables and electric wires at public events.

The Minister also emphasized the government’s dedication to the injured individuals’ well-being. He asked for detailed updates on their health and assured they get the best medical treatment available.
