Hyderabad: Minister Thummala has instructed Markfed to establish special procurement centers for green gram (pesara) across the state. This is to ensure that farmers can sell their produce smoothly.
At present, green gram is being grown on 64,175 acres throughout the state. The expected yield for this season is 17,841 metric tons. Harvesting has already started in 12 regions.
The government has set the minimum support price for green gram at ₹8,682 per metric ton. This was announced by Minister Thummala.
These measures are intended to give better support to farmers and ensure they receive fair payment for their crops.
