During the ongoing 72nd Miss World Festival, held in Hyderabad, a group of 107 international contestants visited the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat on May 18. Their visit celebrated both the rich traditions and the modern advancements of Telangana, reflecting the state’s unique blend of culture and innovation.

The day began with a respectful salute to the Telangana Thalli statue, a symbol of the state’s roots and hopes for the future. The contestants were greeted on the Secretariat’s central lawn with a traditional Hyderabadi tea service, offering them a warm and flavorful welcome.

The mood was set with a live performance of the Telangana Anthem, followed by an eye-catching 3D projection mapping show. The show transformed the Secretariat’s grand building into a canvas, displaying Telangana’s journey—from its formation to its rise as a center of technology and development.

One of the most impressive parts of the day was a drone show featuring 1,000 synchronized drones. These drones lit up the sky with animations that highlighted the state’s major welfare programs and technological achievements, showing how innovation is being used to benefit the public.

The cultural experience continued with live performances of Indian instrumental music, giving the visitors a deeper connection to local traditions. A special photo session allowed the contestants to capture their moments in front of the Secretariat’s striking modern architecture.

A well-arranged viewing gallery ensured everyone had a clear and comfortable view of the entire event. The day ended on a patriotic note with the Indian National Anthem, creating a strong sense of unity and national pride.

Julia Morley, CBE, Chairman and CEO of the Miss World Organization, praised the event. She said Telangana had successfully shared both its cultural roots and its dynamic future with the world. “The mix of tradition and technology gave our contestants a real sense of the state’s vision,” she said.

This visit is one of several events planned by the Telangana government during the Miss World Festival, taking place from May 7 to May 31, 2025. These events aim to promote Telangana as a leader in public safety, cultural preservation, tourism, and global development.
