Hyderabad is all set to host the 72nd Miss World pageant, with preparations nearly complete. The highlight event will take place at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium on the evening of May 10.
So far, contestants from 109 countries have arrived in the city. They’ve begun rehearsals and are staying busy with various pre-event activities. More participants are expected to land in the next couple of days. Alongside them, 28 team members and 17 assistants from the Miss World Organization are also in Hyderabad.
The Telangana Tourism Department gave all the guests a warm welcome, showcasing the region’s rich culture and traditions. Comfortable accommodation has been arranged, and foreign delegates are staying at the Trident Hotel, where tight security is in place.
The contestants are rehearsing daily and are split into smaller groups for better coordination. They’ll take part in various cultural events and visit several historic and tourist destinations around Telangana. As part of the pageant’s social initiatives, awareness programs focused on breast cancer prevention for women are also being held.
Top officials, including Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, and Corporation Chairman Patel Ramesh Reddy, have personally reviewed the arrangements. They’ve made key suggestions to ensure the event runs smoothly.
The state government sees this global event as a chance to promote tourism and attract investment. With the slogan “Telangana Jaroor Aana” (Must Come to Telangana), they aim to boost visibility both across India and internationally. Promotions are being planned for major airports and cities to highlight the occasion.
In total, around 5,000 people will get the opportunity to attend different Miss World-related events held at five separate venues. Each location will host 1,000 attendees. The pageant will wrap up with a spectacular grand finale on May 31.
Nandini Gupta will represent India in the competition, carrying the hopes of the nation on the global stage.
