Mahabubnagar: The State government has started the Mahalakshmi Scheme to help people with various benefits. As part of this, a program was held on Saturday to provide gas cylinders for Rs 500 to the beneficiaries. Devarakadra MLA, G Madhusudhan Reddy (GMR), gave certificates to the beneficiaries from different villages, including Balusupalli, Minigonipalli, Gopalpur, and Choudarpalli. The event took place at the Devarakadra constituency center, with local leaders and officials in attendance.
During the event, MLA Madhusudhan Reddy spoke about the Congress government’s dedication to fulfilling its promises. He pointed out that within just two days of coming to power, the government had already launched several initiatives. These include free bus services for women, 200 units of free electricity, gas cylinders at Rs 500, and healthcare coverage up to Rs 10 lakhs under the Arogyasri scheme. He also assured farmers that the government had successfully implemented the farm loan waiver up to Rs 2 lakhs, and any technical delays in processing these waivers would be resolved soon.
The MLA also emphasized the government’s focus on empowering women. He mentioned new initiatives such as ‘Mahila Shakti’ canteens, giving free stalls to women at Shilparamam, and assigning important roles like stitching school uniforms and managing Amma canteens to women’s groups. Additionally, he announced that ration cards would begin to be distributed on October 2, and Indiramma houses would be provided by Dasara. He also mentioned that Rythu Bandhu funds would be released soon.
