Choutuppal (Yadadri-Bhongir): MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy criticized the house layout plan of the Indiramma housing scheme. He argued it doesn’t fit the needs of poor families and requires changes.
Rajgopal Reddy attended a ceremony in Damerakunta village where Indiramma housing documents were handed out to beneficiaries. MLC Nellikanti Satyam and District Collector Hanumantha Rao were also present.
The MLA raised concerns about increasing construction material costs. He blamed middlemen for raising the prices of cement and iron. Reddy committed to negotiating with company owners in the Nalgonda district to secure lower prices for Indiramma housing beneficiaries.
Reddy reassured residents by saying, “You elected me with a huge majority from Munugode, and I will ensure you all get a decent home. No other government in the country has taken up housing on such a massive scale.”
Reddy expressed his joy at distributing housing documents to many poor families under the Congress-led government, which has been in power for 18 months. He criticized the previous BRS government for not building a single house in the last decade, while the current government aims to construct 10,000 houses in the area. He stated, “No poor person should lose hope. It is my personal responsibility to ensure every underprivileged family receives a house.”
Reddy accused the previous government of distributing schemes like Dalit Bandhu and Double Bedroom Houses only to party loyalists. He warned that benefits wrongly given to ineligible or influential individuals will be revoked and redirected to deserving poor families.
Reddy highlighted that the Rs 5 lakh financial assistance from the government is inadequate to complete Indiramma houses. He urged district collectors to bring this issue to the state government’s attention.
