Nirmal: Mudhole MLA Pawar Ramarao Patel showed his support for contract assistant professors who are protesting at Basara IIIT. These professors are asking the government to make their jobs permanent. Patel said that Government Order (GO) 21 is putting their jobs at risk, even though many have worked for years.
He asked the government to take back GO 21 immediately. He warned that if the government doesn’t act, the BJP will step up its protests.
Patel shared that there are about 900 assistant professors working in 13 universities across the state, including 200 women. He strongly criticized the arrest and detention of these professors at 13 different police stations when they tried to meet the Chief Minister for help.
He also accused the Chief Minister of going back on his election promise to make the professors’ jobs permanent. Patel called for quick action to keep that promise and give the professors job security.
