On Friday, Manthani MLA Duddilla Sridhar Babu paid respects to the statue of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar on his 132nd birth anniversary at Manthani Ambedkar Square. He spoke about how Ambedkar believed in equality for all, and that the caste system should not be used to progress.
Sridhar Babu also talked about how Ambedkar was an inspiration to all communities, not just one, and that after independence, the Congress party took his ideas and put them into practice to move the country forward. He criticized the BJP and BRS parties for obstructing national institutions and destroying democracy.
The MLA urged the public to attend the Satyagraha Diksha organized by the All India Congress Party to promote the spirit of democracy. Many leaders and representatives from the Congress party participated in the programme.
