The Model Code of Conduct came into effect in the district following the release of the election schedule. The notification will be released on April 18, with polling taking place on May 13 and results declared on June 4.

The election code of conduct prohibits public meetings, political campaigns, and gatherings without prior permission. Nodal Officers have been appointed to handle complaints about violations, and a toll-free number and C-Whistle App are available to report violations.

Elderly and disabled voters over 85 years old can use the ‘vote from home’ facility by submitting a 12-D form to the concerned BLOs within five days of the election notification. The Collector warned against negligence and violations of the election code of conduct, stating that strict action will be taken against offenders.
