MS Dhoni broke the TV viewership record on Jio Cinemas during the IPL 2023 match between RCB and CSK. When Dhoni walked out to bat after Ravindra Jadeja, it became the joint most-watched moment during this IPL season with 2.2 crore viewers in real-time. This was the same record he set when he walked out to bat against Rajasthan Royals.
During the match, Chennai Super Kings posted a score of 226/6 in 20 overs, thanks to half-centuries by Devon Conway and Shivam Dube. Conway scored 83 off 45 deliveries while Dube smashed 52 off 27 balls. CSK took advantage of a good pitch, and RCB’s skipper Faf du Plessis missed a trick or two by failing to make better use of his spinners after opting to bowl first.
Although there was much anticipation to see MS Dhoni bat, it turned out to be an anti-climax as he faced only one ball. Fans were left disappointed as they could not see enough of him. However, when he did walk out to bat, there were chants of ‘Dhoni, Dhoni’ in the stadium.
