On Monday night, unknown individuals damaged the concrete structure of Shanigakunta Cheruvu in Chennur town, Mancherial district.
This destruction has severely impacted 43 acres of land used by local farmers and fishermen who depend on the cheruvu for their livelihoods.
After being informed on Tuesday, Chennur Division Irrigation Executive Engineer Vishnu visited the site to assess the damage.
Following complaints from irrigation officials, Circle Inspector Ravinder has registered a case and begun an investigation to find those responsible.
