In Gadwal, the All India Ambedkar Youth Association held an emotional press conference to reveal issues in the cotton seed distribution system harming Nadigadda farmers.
The district president, Macherla Prakash, criticized seed companies and organizers for allegedly deceiving farmers. He accused them of falsely claiming seed failures, manipulating prices, and neglecting their duties.
Prakash stated that this was a deliberate attempt to bankrupt farmers, who are already struggling with debts and drought conditions. He claimed organizers wrongly label good seeds as failed to cut costs and avoid responsibility.
He further alleged that companies inflate seed prices without offering fair returns or support, neglecting mandatory re-sampling of failed seeds, which leaves farmers without evidence or compensation.
Prakash called for immediate government intervention and warned that his organization would seek legal action if necessary.
NHPS District Chairman Gongalla Ranjith Kumar announced a collective protest, promising to stop these fraudulent practices. He warned the seed industry and stated that on Saturday, May 31, they would lead a march to the District Collector’s Office with affected farmers to submit a petition seeking justice.
