Awareness Programme on Harmful Effects of Tobacco Held in Gaggalapalli

An awareness programme about the dangers of using tobacco products, such as cigarettes, pan, and gutkha, was conducted at the Zilla Parishad High School in Gaggalapalli village on Monday.

Headmaster Nagaraju led the session, explaining that tobacco consumption introduces over 200 harmful chemicals into the body. He warned that these substances can cause severe health problems, including oral, dental, throat, lung, and blood cancers.

The headmaster stressed that young people, especially students, who develop such habits risk jeopardizing their futures. He pointed out that tobacco use not only damages an individual’s health but also impacts families and society as a whole.

Students were strongly encouraged to stay away from banned substances. They were reminded of government rules that strictly prohibit the sale or use of tobacco products within 100 meters of the school premises.

This session aimed to educate and empower students to make healthier choices and stay away from harmful habits.
