Hanumakonda: Warangal West MLA Naini Rajender Reddy strongly criticized the BRS party, questioning if their silver jubilee event is actually a celebration of 25 years of deceiving the people of Telangana.
Speaking at a press conference at the Congress district office on Saturday, he said the public has not yet given BRS the punishment it deserves. He claimed that during its 10-year rule, the BRS government failed to fulfill major promises and is now trying to celebrate its achievements. He reminded everyone that KCR had once promised to merge BRS into the Congress if Telangana was granted statehood, but he never kept that promise.
Reddy also said that BRS misled Dalits by promising to make a Dalit the Chief Minister and to give three acres of land to each Dalit family. He pointed out that the party also failed to provide a job for every household and never gave the promised ₹3,000 monthly unemployment allowance. He added that no DSC (teacher recruitment notification) was issued in the last 10 years, letting down job seekers.
He criticized KCR for going back on his word of not taking power and instead acting like a watchdog. Instead, KCR gave important positions to his family members, including his son, daughter, son-in-law, and other relatives. Reddy also blamed the BRS government for the leak of Group-1 exam question papers and the poor handling of intermediate exam results, which led to student suicides.
Reddy further accused the government of ruining public universities by not appointing professors or releasing funds, while helping private universities owned by BRS leaders. He said this damaged the education system. He also criticized the Kaleshwaram project, claiming it was built without proper planning, just to earn commissions, wasting ₹1 lakh crore of public money.
He alleged that under Mission Bhagiratha, a scheme meant to provide clean drinking water, thousands of crores were misused. He said Telangana, which once had a budget surplus, is now buried under ₹7 lakh crore in debt.
Reddy also claimed that BRS reduced reservations for Backward Classes from 34% to 23%, betraying those communities. Finally, he accused BRS of using Telangana’s public money to expand the party in other states like Maharashtra, Haryana, and Punjab, and on national advertisements, effectively spending the people’s money outside the state.
