New GHMC Commissioner Vows Improved Services for Citizens

Hyderabad:

The newly appointed Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner, K Ilambarithi, has asked officials to improve services for the people of Hyderabad. He made these remarks during a meeting on Friday.

In the meeting, Commissioner Ilambarithi spoke with the heads of different departments. He asked about the various works and programs they were handling. The department heads gave updates on the projects they were working on.

Ilambarithi emphasized the importance of teamwork among the departments. He asked them to focus especially on improving sanitation and managing garbage collection more efficiently throughout the city. He also suggested that the heads of departments should regularly review the work of their teams.

Several key officials attended the meeting. These include additional commissioners Shivakumar Naidu, Sneha Sabreesh, Nalini Padmavathy, Geeta Radhika, and many others, including engineers and department heads.

K Ilambarithi took charge as GHMC Commissioner on Thursday. He replaced Amrapali Kata, who was transferred to the Andhra Pradesh cadre. Ilambarithi has held important roles in the past, such as Transport Commissioner and Director of Census Operations. He also served as the Commissioner of Guntur Municipal Corporation in 2009 and as the Zonal Commissioner of GHMC from 2010 to 2012.
