New rains hit RR district

Rangareddy District is experiencing continuous monsoon rains, resulting in a total rainfall of 166.1 mm in July. New showers are reported regularly across the district.

The number of mandals with insufficient rain has decreased from 14 at the beginning of July to 8 by the 18th, thanks to the increased rainy days. This month has seen 12 days of rain, up from 8 last month, according to the district Collectorate’s report.

By Friday, total rainfall had reached 166.1 mm, rising from 73.8 mm on June 30.

Five mandals now have excess rainfall compared to just one at the start of the month. These include Ibrahimpatnam, Manchal, Yacharam, Madgul, and Maheshwaram.

Thirteen mandals received normal rain, eight have a deficit, and one experienced scanty rainfall. Eight mandals recorded heavy rain between 64.5 mm and 115.5 mm this month.

In the last 24 hours, Amangal, Talakondlapally, and Madgul had heavy showers. Amangal received the highest rainfall at 84.4 mm, with Talakondlapally at 84.2 mm and Manchal at 76.1 mm on Friday.

The season’s rainfall has slightly increased to 92.3 mm this month, compared to 73.8 mm in June.

Moderate to heavy rain continues to affect various mandals, disrupting daily life. There are also reports of crop damage in several areas.
