Hyderabad has a vibrant new cohort at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT). The institute launched a lively three-day orientation for its fresh students, starting Wednesday.
A total of 248 newcomers, with 215 undergraduates and 33 postgraduates, have joined from various parts of India to pursue design, fashion technology, and management.
The opening ceremony took place at the NIFT Auditorium. Important figures like Prof. Dr. Malini Divakala, Director of NIFT Hyderabad, Joint Director Dr. Prithwiraj Mal, and former CAC Dr. M Annaji Sharma were present. Faculty Coordinators Prof. Jyothirmai S and Prof. Rajyalakshmi also greeted the new students.
Students and their parents learned about the campus facilities, academic departments, clubs, and mentorship opportunities. Presentations covered student health, banking, and hostel services, followed by a campus tour. A special focus on Hyderabad City helped students adjust to their new environment.
The orientation highlighted NIFT’s dedication to well-rounded student growth. Programs like “Feel the Beat – Fuel the Health” for Zumba, “High on Life – Not on Substance,” and “Sustainability Starts with You” encouraged healthy, responsible lifestyles. Networking with international partners provided a global perspective.
On the last day, August 1, a colorful cultural show called “Rang Tarang” will take place at 2:30 PM in the auditorium. New students will showcase their talents, marking a joyful end to the orientation.
The director of NIFT Hyderabad emphasized that the Orientation 2025 aims to support students’ academic, social, and emotional transitions, making it a smooth and memorable experience.
