Nirmal: A district court decided on Monday that a man would spend six years in jail for the murder of his wife. He was also fined Rs 2,000.
The man, Palakar Sainath, was found guilty of pouring kerosene on his wife and setting her on fire in anger. Before she died, she gave a statement which became crucial evidence. The Principal District and Sessions Judge of Srivani reviewed the case and sentenced him to six years in prison with a Rs 2,000 fine.
SP G Janaki Sharmila praised the Nirmal police and the prosecution team for effectively managing the case. She stressed the police department’s dedication to public safety and justice. She assured that they will continue to ensure that offenders face strict legal consequences, and all necessary evidence is presented in court to secure convictions.
