Hyderabad: NMDC, the top iron ore producer in India, celebrated the country’s 79th Independence Day with enthusiasm. The theme was ‘Naya Bharat’, and events took place at their Head Office in Hyderabad and other mining sites nationwide. This year’s focus was on Operation Sindoor, highlighting India’s increasing self-reliance.

Amitava Mukherjee, CMD of NMDC, raised the national flag at the NMDC Corporate Office in Hyderabad. The ceremony included Vinay Kumar (Director Technical), Joydeep Dasgupta (Director Production), Priyadarshini Gaddam (Director HR), employees, and their families.

Mukherjee addressed the attendees, emphasizing the significance of this Independence Day. He stated that NMDC is crucial to India’s vision, with every ore and steel coil symbolizing national trust. The company aims for 55 million tonnes by FY26, advancing towards a 100 million tonnes goal by 2030. NSL marked August 2025 with major achievements: producing 11,205 tonnes of hot metal in a day, a Q1 FY26 profit of Rs. 25.7 crore, and launching a 1.2 mm thick hot rolled coil. NSL continues to carry a strong sense of duty towards people and the planet, inspired by NMDC.
