The District Collector in Mulugu has instructed officials to stay alert and provide regular updates on the flood situation. He recently met with mandal officials to discuss any issues in the area.

During the meeting, the Collector urged officials to participate in a large-scale tree planting program called “Vana Mahotsavam” in the upcoming season. It was noted that due to limitations in storing flood water from the Godavari river in Medigadda Annaram barrages, the Sammakka Saralamma barrage may be directly affected this rainy season.

Local officials have been tasked with monitoring the Godavari flood water regularly to prevent any potential problems. Additionally, plans are being made to establish rehabilitation centers for people living in flood-prone areas.

It is important for officials to act promptly and ensure the safety of residents during the rainy season. Warning signs should be placed near rivers to deter people, especially young individuals, from attempting to cross flooded areas. Furthermore, caution should be taken to prevent people from risking their lives by trying to create social media content near bodies of water during heavy rainfall.
