To celebrate this milestone, the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) team shared their experiences and discussed the positive changes that have taken place. The team noted that greater awareness and strict infection prevention measures have led to better patient care and a safer hospital environment.

Some key efforts by the HICC include creating checklists to track important infection indicators like CAUTI, CLAPSI, VAP, and SSI. The hospital also conducts daily safety audits by dedicated nursing officers, prescription audits, and collects data on antimicrobial resistance. Other improvements include more frequent cleaning and disinfection in high-risk areas, air sampling in operating rooms, regular water tank cleaning, and special training sessions for hospital staff and students on infection control.
