On May 28th, 2023, fuel prices for petrol and diesel stayed the same across India. In Delhi, petrol costs Rs. 96.72 per litre and diesel is Rs. 89.62 per litre. In Hyderabad, petrol is priced at Rs. 109.66 per litre and diesel is priced at Rs. 97.82 per litre. Chennai’s petrol price is Rs. 102.65 per litre and diesel is Rs. 94.24 per litre. Mumbai’s petrol price is Rs. 106.31 per litre and diesel is Rs. 97.28 per litre. Finally, Bangalore’s petrol price is Rs. 101.94 per litre and diesel is Rs. 87.89 per litre.

India relies heavily on crude oil imports, and changes in crude prices can affect fuel prices domestically. Other factors that can impact fuel prices include increasing demand, government taxes, currency exchange rates, and refinery capacity.
